InsideVue Heartscreen Clinic™
Breathlessness?
If so, the Heartscreen Clinic will undertake simple electrochemical tests to assess whether you are suffering with heart failure.
Heartscreen is a combination high-quality ECG and a cutting-edge peptide blood test. While most patients know about electrocardiographs, few will be familiar with the latest B-type Natriuretic Peptide (BNP) blood test.
BNP is a hormone that regulates blood pressure and fluid balance which is produced by the heart in response to ventricular expansion and pressure overload; it is therefore an excellent indicator of ventricular dysfunction. The BNP test when combined with an ECG and some basic health information provided by your GP enables a reliable assessment of heart failure to be made by our highly experienced partner cardiologists at Surrey Cardiovascular Clinic.
The Heartscreen Clinic is a twenty minute appointment during which a blood sample and ECG will be taken. You will be asked to bring your completed questionnaire with you (You can download the Cardiology Services Form from our download library>> or call us on 0845 6036102 and we'll post one to you).
A cardiologist report containing the results, interpretation, Specialist Referral Index and recommended next steps is issued.
